Open Call for Submissions ~ SS23 

For the first time, Plunge is taking submissions to find our next artist and grow our community!


Applications are sought from emerging to established visual artists working in multidisciplinary art to create a limited edition towel for Plunge to be released in SS23. Artist must be located in the USA.


~ The chosen artist will receive a total commission of $500 USD.

~ The chosen artist will have a limited edition (~50 qty) towel produced with their artwork and sold by Plunge on the Plunge website. 

~ Each towel will feature a woven damask label with the artist’s name and Plunge logo, and will be sold with an accompanying editioned risograph print of the artwork.

 ~ The artist will receive two (2) towels from the collection, and have their towel and artwork promoted through all Plunge outlets: website, email newsletter, and social (Instagram) to the Plunge community.

~ Plunge will conduct an interview with the chosen artist, which will be published on the Plunge website and in our printed journal, Plunge Rag.

    Terms of Agreement: 

    ~ Artwork should be original work and if chosen should not be reproduced for sale by the artist or another organization elsewhere.  

    ~ Artists are welcomed to submit past work for consideration as long as it has not been reproduced elsewhere as stated above. Please make a note in your artwork description.

    ~ The final artwork will be exclusive to Plunge and used at the sole discretion of Plunge, for creating towels, accompanying riso-printed product cards, and related marketing and advertising in support of the artist-collaboration.  

    ~ Plunge will retain proceeds from sales of the artist-designed towels.

      To Apply: 

      ~ Submit via Google Form linked below. Include one (1) to two (2) artworks for consideration, a short bio / artist statement, artwork description, link to website and Instagram handle. 

      Artwork may be created in any media. It should preferably be formatted in a 1:2 ratio (rectangle) and limited to two (2) or three (3) colors. Media could include 2D or 3D work, including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, textiles, sculpture, digital art, etc.

      ~ Selected artist must be amenable to making adjustments to artwork and colors used in order to meet our parameters for weaving.

        Important Dates and Application Deadline:

        Deadline to Apply: 11:59 pm pst, Sunday, 2/26
